Men’s Calcutta

Fellow golfers,

Once again, we enjoyed another successful men’s Calcutta season!! Mother Nature was in our favour this past summer as we never had to cancel one evening, which makes things so much easier for all of us. Thank you for your support and participation in one of the longer-standing events we hold at the Old Lennoxville Golf & Ski. Looking ahead to next season, we plan on extending Calcutta to 14 weeks and will take the second week of construction holidays off once again. The plan right now is to continue with a similar scoring format that was used this summer as it seems to have worked out quite well. There has been some discussion about whether we need to split into A Flyte and B Flyte, and we will wait to make that final decision next spring when we see the number of teams who sign up, but likely, we will use the same format we used this summer. Calcutta will continue to be played on Thursday evenings and we hope we can expand our men’s league to 24 teams or more next summer. Many thanks to Jeff Cheal and Garry Bradley for all their support and help throughout the Calcutta, helping things go smooth and making my work a little bit easier.
